Baby showers are so much fun. They are fun for the hostess as well as the guests and especially fun for the mother-to-be. There is also a variety of baby shower favors and baby gifts to choose from that are useful, memorable and downright adorable!

Baby Shower Favors
If you are hosting the baby shower then it is nice to give out baby shower favors as a thank you to the guests for coming. These favors can be as simple or elaborate as you like. Simple ideas include wrapping pastel colored candies in tulle (netting found in craft and sewing stores) then tying the tulle with pink or blue ribbon. If you know someone who already has a baby then have them save tiny stage one baby jars which can be washed, filled with pastel candies. The baby shower lids can then be covered with pretty scraps of pastel colored fabric.

Another idea for baby shower favors is to purchase small, inexpensive clay pots and fill with tiny plants. What a great way to celebrate the impending birth of a new baby by sharing a brand new plant that symbolizes new beginnings.

If you decide not to go the homemade route then there are plenty of ready made baby shower favors that can be purchased such as tiny soaps. small candles and gourmet candies and cookies. Many of these baby shower favors can even be personalized.

Baby Gift ideas
Often the mother-to-be will register for baby gifts at her favorite store. Shopping off a registry is a very good idea because the new mother most likely has a long list of things she needs. This also helps you avoid buying duplicate baby gifts since once you buy off the registry the store will take it off the list.

If the new mom doesn’t register then you can’t go wrong with clothing. New babies need a variety of clothes and accessories such as onesies, sleepers, receiving blankets, and gowns. One thing to keep in mind however is that the size listed on baby tags aren’t always reliable. In fact, some babies will wear newborn sizes for a very short time which means the baby often has more clothes than he or she needs – at first. However, within a month or two it will be time for a whole new wardrobe. By purchasing one or two outfits in size 3-6 months means the baby will have more clothing to grow into.

A new baby is always a blessing which is why shopping for baby gifts, creating baby shower favors and actually attending the shower is so much fun.
